A 61 year old man woke up to the shock of his life on Tuesday as he discovered his dog had eaten three of his toes. The incident had happened when the diabetic man was asleep. According to experts, the possible reason behind the dog eating toes was to remove diseased flesh.
Meanwhile, the Associated Press was told on Friday that the man was doing perfectly fine.
The dog’s name is Shiba Inu. According to the Douglas County Animal Control Deputy Lee Bartholomew, the canine did not appear to pose a threat to anyone; he felt that the dog was just acting out of instinct. Previous incidents have also shown that dogs are known for eating dead flesh.
It was only last December that a family dog I Illinois had eaten the toes off a 10 year old girl’s left foot.
Meanwhile, Shiba Inu has been given away by Mr. Little; the dog is currently staying at the Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center in Roseburg. The center’s Executive Director Wendy Kang has informed that the animal was healthy; though, it did appear a little anxious.
Doctors taking care of little have informed that he will be discharged from the hospital by Friday.
